Currently I am working as a SENIOR SCIENTIST in the Catalysis & Fine Chemicals Division at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology Hyderabad.

I obtained the B. Sc. degree from Calcutta University (CU) of India in 2006 and obtained M. Sc degree from the same university in 2008.

Then I moved to Indian Asssociation for The Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata to study with Professor Asim Bhaumik on Synthesis, Characterization and Potential Applications of Organosilicon Based And Related Mesoporous Molecular Sieves, and obtained Ph.D. degree in 2013.

In June, 2013 I moved to Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore as a postdoctoral research fellow in Prof. Zhao Yanli’s group.

After completing postdoctoral studies I joined CSIR-IICT Hyderabad as a DST INSPIRE Faculty in Inorganic & Physical Chemistry Division (April 2015- December 2016).

Presently, John's research group is passionately active in the design, synthesis, characterization and application of catalytic Porous solids mainly Porous-Organic-Polymer (POP) & Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) for the conversion of fossil (crude oil & natural gas) and renewable (biomass) feedstock into transportation fuels, chemicals and materials. More recently, research group is devoted to the catalytic activation of CO2 and the splitting of water into hydrogen and oxygen.
